We regret only after losing something.
We change only after losing something.
We realize only after losing something.
Very often, we focus on what is missing in our lives, and this applies to our relationships as well. When we concentrate on what is missing or wrong in our lives it requires a lot of energy and is draining. As such don’t you think it could be far better used elsewhere?

Our ability to treasure what we have in a relationship, and everything connected with it, is a wonderful gift and one that we all have. All it takes is a little willingness. Why don’t you try switching your mindset – from unlucky or down to lucky? Indeed it could be difficult, but the effort is well worth it.
Whether you feel like it or not, smile at everyone you meet and even smile when you are all alone. It will convince your brain that you are happy and then you will begin to feel happy. Because our feelings follow behavior.
Gratitude is a form of self-expression that must be shared. Cultivating an attitude for your current blessings unleashes the power for receiving many more. In short, once you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears. So change the way you look at things, and the things you look at changes.
We cannot show gratitude without sharing it with someone. And we cannot have an attitude of gratitude without having an object of that gratitude. So whenever we show gratitude, it is our way of sharing joy with that person – make showing and sharing your gratitude a part of your life.
Try to see abundance everywhere and count your blessings. You see, when we focus on abundance, our life feels abundant. When we focus on lack, our life feels lacking. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much is going for you, the smiles will return, the music will play and you will move forward with courage, grace, strength and confidence.
On the other hand, we do spend a lot of our time asking who is responsible or who is to blame whether in a relationship, in a job or with people we know. By doing so we often miss out some warmth in human relationship to give one another support.
Yes, people come and go in our lives. To be able to know someone in our life is a blessing and is fate. We often take for granted and let go of opportunities to have a great friendship or even a relationship. So treasure what you have before you lose that someone you could have forever, someone that will bring you happiness because of your own indecisive character.
Be mindful we attract more of what we send out. Treasuring what we have is simply a new habit to acquire. And like any habit, it requires repetitive action before you can actually do it without thinking. The same applies to feeling lucky.
As I conclude my post, “Let’s Treasure What We Have,” I suddenly recall what someone once told me, he said; “”Life is love, if you miss love, you miss life.” Begin to treasure what you have, attract more good luck into your life and when you decide to be lucky – the more of it will be attracted.
The treasures in life,
are not hard to find,
when you look in your heart,
your soul and your mind.
For when you are willing,
to share what is within,
Your fervent search
for riches will end.

What Matters Most - President Thomas S. Monson

Something to think about....
Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
Name the last five Heismann trophy winners.
Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor or actress.
Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is,
none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz.
See how you do on this one:

List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier?

The lesson?
The people who make a difference in your life
are not the ones with the most credentials,
the most money,
or the most awards.

They are the ones who care.

The intelligent heart

Many people are afraid to forgive because they feel they must remember the wrong or they will not learn from it. The opposite is true. Through forgiveness, the wrong is released from its emotional stranglehold on us so that we can learn from it. Through the power and intelligence of the heart, the release of forgiveness brings expanded intelligence to work with the situation more effectively
